Our Keeper Experience office is closed for the festive season Wednesday 25 December - Sunday 5 January 2025. During this time, purchases can be made but vouchers will not be sent out until Monday 6 January at the earliest.

Please note, we have limited weekend availability for our Armadillo Magic Moment until the end of December 2024.

In this Magic Moment you will spend time with our keepers behind the scenes where you'll meet our charismatic armadillos. You'll get to help feed them live insect food, feel their amazing, defensive shell and learn all about them from our expert keepers! On the day, you will meet our adorable three-banded armadillos and our larger hairy armadillos.

Please note, if you are looking for a specific date for your experience, contact us before purchasing any vouchers. We require at least seven days' notice for any bookings.

Essential information:

Vouchers have a one year expiry date unless stated otherwise. We advise enquiring for specific dates as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Max two people per experience (please note one voucher is required per person)
We run the Armadillo Magic Moment every day at 9am and 4pm (3pm in the winter months), dependant on availability.
This experience lasts around thirty minutes.
Price is per person and includes the participant's admission to Edinburgh Zoo.
Keeper Experience vouchers are strictly non-refundable.
All orders are issued as e-vouchers, aligning with our commitment to reduce paper usage and aid environmental conservation. We aim to dispatch all e-vouchers within two business days.
Your e-voucher includes instructions on how to book your Keeper Experience.

Restrictions

This experience is available for participants aged 6 years and over only.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an observing adult who will be required to pay adult admission cost.
Please note the accompanying adult may be required to go behind the scenes during the experience with the participant and it is therefore not suitable for the accompanying adult to be supervising another non-participating child.

Regrettably, our Keeper Experiences are not suitable for certain guests including those with any relevant phobias or known allergies, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this may not always be possible.
