Bring the family for an unforgettable day behind the scenes as zookeepers! This unique, hands-on experience is designed for animal lovers of all ages, giving you a chance to meet, feed and care for some of our most beloved residents together in a group.
The experience includes helping with daily animal feeds, making enrichment for a variety of animals and lots of special hands-on magic moments. Go behind-the-scenes for a unique insight into the daily routines of zoo life and get your hands dirty – literally!
Please note, if you are looking for a specific date for your experience, contact us before purchasing any vouchers. We require at least seven days' notice for any bookings.
If you do not have a specific date in mind, vouchers can be gifted and booked at a later date within the voucher's validity.

- One voucher is required per participant.
- Vouchers have a one year expiry date unless stated otherwise. We advise enquiring for specific dates as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
- This experience is for a minimum of two participants and a maximum of five participants per slot (please note one voucher is required per person).
- We run the Family Fun Keeper Experience every day depending on availability.
- We run a morning and afternoon session, 9am - 12pm or 1:30pm - 4:30pm (the afternoon session runs from 1pm - 4pm during the winter months)
- Keeper Experience vouchers are strictly non-refundable.

All orders are issued as e-vouchers, aligning with our commitment to reduce paper usage and aid environmental conservation. Vouchers will be available to download immediately after purchase.

The cost is £155 per voucher per participant.
- This experience is for a minimum of two participants and a maximum of five participants.

As this experience is a chance for adults and children to participate together, we require at least one paying adult and one paying child taking part. We cannot have a child participating on their own, as we offer a different experience for children only.
Regrettably, our Keeper Experiences are not suitable for certain guests including those with any relevant phobias or known allergies, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this may not always be possible. Click & Collect - Free - Please allow 4 hours for order
preparation (excluding adoptions which require 3 working days). Collections can
be made between 11-4pm every day from Edinburgh Zoo Gift Shop. We will hold
your order for 14 days (excluding adoptions).
Items ordered will usually be delivered by Royal Mail and
RZSS cannot be held liable for any delivery delays following dispatch. In the
event of delayed delivery, please wait for a period of at least 14 days from
the date of dispatch of your order before contacting us.
All prices listed include UK VAT (where applicable) but
exclude delivery charges, which will be shown separately at checkout.
**Please note international customers may have to pay
import VAT and a handling charge before the delivery company will deliver your
goods or at the point when you collect your purchases.**
